We’re always looking out for what’s new in order to keep our individual fashion game up. Fashion shows are a great way to keep your finger at the pulse of what’s trending. After the big hit that was Milan Fashion Week, we selected the hottest beauty trends right from the catwalks for summer next year. Here’s what you might want to try in 2023:
Flashbulb Highlighter
Well, it’s time to reverse your highlighter game to make your fashion game pop out a bit. Thomas De Kluyver, the global makeup consultant of Gucci, played with his highlighter palette during Gucci’s tin-tastic spring 2023 show. Instead of brushing the product on the cheekbones and other usual areas, he decided to go for the forehead and the undereye. When the models hit the ramp, their makeup had a flashlight bulb effect going on.
Purple Smoke
Aren’t we all done with the basic black smoky eyes and want to change it up a little? Well, for Versace’s moody collection by Donatella, Pat McGrath, a Trust makeup artist, decided to play with purple. She wanted to inspire creativity that had no boundaries. She chose the violet shadow from her Mthrshp Mega: Celestial Nirvana Palette and gave her models the perfect blend that fits with the wardrobe.
The Good Old Grunge
Over time, people have been chasing perfection. The perfect hairdo, makeup, and clothing. But makeup artist Peter Philips and hairstylist Guido brought back the classic grunge look for Fendi. They complimented the clothing with careless wavy hair and just a hint of silver on the eyes and no other makeup or accessories. People are definitely going back to the good old days of the ’90s, next summer.
Holiday Ponies
Summers are all about pool parties and what’s better to wear to a pool party than a holiday pony? To inspire people to go ahead with it, Giorgio Armani decided to go for a no-parting, clean-looking, slicked-back ponytail. For long as well as short hair, this look is for everyone and gives a fresh out-of-the-pool look. In case you feel like your hair needs accessories, put in a few elastic bands to keep things sleek and tight.
Feline Flick
We always see people putting their eyeliner on in a new and unique way. Pat McGrath also played with an eye pencil for Dolce & Gabbana’s spring 2023 show. This year, Kim Kardashian collaborated with the Dolce designers and together their models walked the floor wearing perfectly-lined eyeliner. The feline flick is unquestionably back, with variations ranging from chunkier, rounder forms to thin, lengthy lines.
