The well-known Grammy Award-winning artist, Ciara, has officially launched her new clothing brand, alongside her husband, Russell Wilson, and former Lululemon CEO, Christine Day. The clothing brand is called the House of LR&C, and its mission isn’t just to sell clothes.
Aside from their passion for fashion, the team also has a passion for impact. That’s why they have also put an emphasis on environmental sustainability. 3% of every purchase made at the House of LR&C will go to the Why Not You Foundation, which was founded by Wilson in 2014. It’s a non-profit foundation that supports efforts on poverty reduction, access to education, and children’s health.
Ciara’s New Clothing Brand
Ciara partnered with her husband and Christine Day to make this brand happen. According to Christine Day, who left the Lululemon brand towards the end of 2013, launching the brand in 2020, with all that is going on, comes at an “inflection point” in regards to the retail industry. She believes that consumers are searching for versatility, sustainability, and longevity in their clothing.
Christine also said that the House of LR&C was seeking to fill the gap in the market with young shoppers that are also socially minded. Those young shoppers are looking for companies that are building business models that matter and are inclusive.
The two clothing lines for the brand at this time are Good Man Brand, founded by Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson in 2016, and Human Nation, which is a brand that sells casual and gender-neutral items.
Looking Into Potential Partnerships
At the moment, clothes from the clothing brand are available for sale through the website. However, they’re looking into future potential partnerships with Nordstrom and Kohls. Ciara mentioned that the mission for the House of LR&C was aligned with the retailers that are well-known for their brick-and-mortar presence.
She added that companies, like Kohls, were evolving with the times. Ciara has already worked with Kohls in the past, and she likes where things are going.
