New York Fashion Week has just flashed before our eyes and Rihanna served as the grand finale by showing off her lingerie line, Savage x Fenty. The show, which was set to be an “immersive experience,” was scheduled to follow Marc Jacobs’ show and had a slightly different take compared to riding a dirt bike down the runway like her Fenty x Puma show. The Savage x Fenty presentation was in a see-now, buy-now format, meaning Riri’s collection is available to shop immediately at SavageX.com and in a series of pop-up shops this fall.
Rihanna launched her new brand in May, and if you did not know, what planet were you on?! The Savage x Fenty website crashed several times due to such high demand. Rihanna’s line of lingerie and intimate accessories features bras, underwear, furry robes, and more. She has been praised for not only being affordable but for being inclusive, making sure she has a vast range of sizes. The collection also has a wide range of nude shade options for all skin tones.
What better way to end New York Fashion Week than watching many gorgeous models walk up and down the runway in these stunning pieces of underwear? If that is not good enough, Rihanna selected an outstanding bad-gal crew to model her collection, including some of the most talked about current models, street cast newcomers, and a variety of dancers.
Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Joan Smalls were among the many that made an appearance. Yet, Rihanna did not discriminate and had models of all sizes, ages, and ethnicities. Attracting the crowd’s attention, Slick Woods walked the runway with her pregnant bared belly wearing pasties and not much else. Paloma Eissner showed her curves in a skimpy bustier and was accompanied by interpretive dancers in the background. After spreading her message of fashion for all, Rihanna ended the NYFW with a final bow.
