Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has been on our screens for 24 years. However, it looks as though 2019 will be the first year since its release in 1994 that the Angels are resting their wings. That’s right; this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has been canceled.
Victoria’s Secret has seen some famous Angels walk the runway over the years, with the likes of Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner being just a few. To top it off, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift are just some of the stars who have performed at the show over the years.
Some Big Changes
At the start of 2019, it was announced the fashion show would no longer be broadcast on TV after suffering the lowest viewing figures the previous year. To top it off, Victoria’s Angel Shanina told Australia’s Daily Telegraph that the whole thing has been called off.
Caught Up In Controversy
Ed Razek worked as the company’s chief marketing officer until the news of the cancelation was announced. Ed landed himself in hot water after claiming he would never hire models from the LGBT community, and it looks as though the entire fashion show has suffered as a result.
Better Than Ever
However, Shanina is still confident that the show will be back and better than ever. Apparently, Victoria’s Secret wants to work on giving the fashion show a revamp to make sure that it’s bigger and better than ever, and they need some time away from the runway to make their dreams come to life.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is something that many of us live for every year as we get to see the Angels spread their wings and fly. Sadly, it looks as though we could be waiting a long time to see what the company has up its sleeve.
