Charles Harbison Will Be Making a Comeback in 2023

If you know fashion, then you must’ve heard about Charles Harbison, a designer who people didn’t expect to make a comeback after his fallout in 2016. Now, he’s all set to relaunch himself with his new collection at Resort 2023.

Eponymous Before the Hold

Before Charles Harbison had to put his work on hold due to some personal and professional loss, his brand was flourishing. Harbison introduced his brand to the world in the year 2013 and people fell in love. In fact, his knowledge of patterns and colors, as an architect before he became a designer, attracted more and more people. However, 2016 turned out to be one of the worst times in his life. He lost his grandmother and faced problems professionally too. This is when he realized he needed to take a break, as his mind was not in the right place.

Charles Harbison’s Time Off

Harbison decided to fly out to Los Angeles to find a work-life balance. He never completely stopped working, but he couldn’t come up with a collection that would blow people’s minds. During his time off, Harbison moved towards client-based work and created clothes for Ava DuVernay. He also worked with Nicholas and Cult Gaia during this time.

The Comeback

This isn’t the first time that Harbison is releasing a collection after a gap. In 2021, he made a collection for Banana Republic in collaboration with Harlem Fashion Row. But winning a place with Resort 2023 is definitely what the world’s been waiting for. This collection is not only about geometrics and colors but is also for various body types and identities. He’s made sure that his garments are available in sizes 0-22. In addition to that, every piece of raw material used is environmentally-friendly. Recycled polyester, vintage textiles, organic cotton, and Lenzing Ecovero viscose, speak for themselves.

Resort 2023 Collection Highlights

The highlights of his collection include jersey dresses with the right amount of sportiness and drama, hooded tops, and wide-leg jeans with sequins with track pants lines on each side. Also, the opera coat in the shade cyan with spherical and voluminous sleeves goes perfectly with a bright blue floor-length gown. To finish off the look is the black and white bust with sequins on one side. Harbison wants his clothes to bring out the best and most fun part of the person wearing them.
