It seems as though there are new trends making their way into the summer sunshine every single year, and sometimes it can be pretty hard to keep up. In the past, we’ve rocked gladiator sandals, chunky wedges, and there was even a stage where everyone was wearing jelly shoes. This year, though, it’s all about the rope sandals.

No, we haven’t gone back in time to hang out with the Ancient Romans, but we have stolen some of their favorite footwear trends. The rope sandal is the gladiator sandal’s big sister because these shoes certainly know how to pack a punch. They’re incredibly stylish, and while they are incredibly luxurious, it’s their simplicity that really makes these shoes stand out from the crowd. After all, they feature a solid base, some rope, and that’s it.
