There are a lot of things we can look forward to in 2019. With the birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal baby, the release of a trio of live-action Disney movies, the final season of Game of Thrones, and the return of the Spice Girls, there is only one thing left to think about… what to wear for each event! We have the top trends that you need to know to get a head start at looking your best in 2019.
You probably don’t believe it or even don’t want to believe it, but this ’60s print is back with a vengeance. Luckily, the 2019 take on the trend is a lot more chic than back in the day, so hopefully, we won’t all be turning into raging hippies and purchasing camper vans by the summer. You can either opt for the Stella McCartney approach with a matching two-piece or keep it more mainstream with a subtly beach maxi like this Prabal Gurung number.
There is no better way to compliment this autumn’s obsession with the cowboy boot than to partner them with another Western-inspired trend next season. Attached to everything from jackets to skirts to handbags and possibly even everything in-between, the fringes are coming. Who knows… maybe soon we will all be getting around on horses too.
Shorts With Class
Much to the hatred of many, cycling shorts made a quick appearance this year and unless you are a six-foot-tall size zero, this was not the best look around. However, things are looking up and a little more lose next year. Almost like a boy alternative to skirts, these tailored, micro, knee-length shorts will be a sensible and classy style that is going to be the summer go-to.
From flowy maxi skirts to tops, we have seen a good run of pleats this year. But they aren’t going anywhere. We will be seeing a return in 2019, however, this time they will be a whole lot more intricate. Just like science, these tighter pleats provide maximum impact. They not only generate more movement but also give a more fluctuating silhouette by expanding and contrasting. Clever, right?
